Assignment 3- Final Artwork

Assingment 3 - The Process

I use the sketch that I draw as a base for me to trace the the shape of the earth. I use ellipse tool to trace the shape of the earth and the sun.
And that I use the pencil tool to trace the shape of the map of the earth. I copy the first shape and resize it for another globe.

After I have finished tracing, I remove the sketch from my artwork.

I use the rectangle shape as it background. I apply black colour to the background and I send it to back so the earth and the sun appear in front of the background.

I paint the globe from the smallest to the biggest using hot and cold colour. I use gradient tool to create the gradient of colour in each globe. I also use the gradient tool to blend the red and yellow colour to paint the sun.

After that I select all the globe and the sun and I apply the effect of ink outlines from the brush strokes category.

I apply the effect of chalk and charcoal from the sketch category on the background.

I insert the text using the type tool to show my statement on the poster *(I am using Adobe Illustrator CS2 but I cannot save my ai file when I insert text in my poster).

Lastly, I add the flare tool to the sun to create an effect of sun shine in my poster.

Assignment 3- Project Charter

Assignment 3 Title: Can you bear the heat?

Project Start Date : August 19, 2008 Projected Finish Date: September 9, 2008

Project Manager : Muhammad Fahmi bin Mohd Rosli Email:ahm_valkyrie7@yahoo.com

Project Objectives : To develop awareness among people about the depletion of ozone caused by global warming.

Approach: I use adobe illustrator CS2 to create my poster for this project. I took some ideas from my previous project, project 1 and 2 to create this poster. I have sketched my poster and post it out in my blog. The sketch consist of seven earth that I have drawn in ascending order from small to big. I am trying to show the sequence of the depletion of ozone and which one of the earth will receive more ultraviolet rays....I will use cold colour like blue and green on the 1st small earth and then slowly increase the gradient of the colour from cold to hot colour in ascending order on each earth.

I use the ellipse tool to trace the shape of the earth. After that I use the pencil tool to trace the shape of the map of the earth. I also use pen tool to trace the shape of the map. For the sun I use the ellipse tool to trace the shape and I use flare tool to add the effect of the sun. I use brush strokes effect on each of the earth and I also use ink outline effects. For the background I use black colour background with the effect of chalk and charcoal from the sketch category, black background is actually represent the outerspace environment.

Roles and Responsibilities: I asked my friend about my sketch and I consult with my lecturer about my project. I try to learn how to use different tool from my friend.

Comment: I hope that my poster can develop some awareness among the people in this world about the effect of global warming on the earth.

assingment 3-The Poster

scope planning : based on the area of my choice which is the ozone, I have sketched an illustration for my poster...this illustration is about the ozone depletion which is a process that continuously broken down the ozone layer and allow more UV rays to reach the earth....I have drawn the earth in ascending order from small to big, I am trying to show the sequence of the depletion of ozone and which one of the earth will receive more ultraviolet rays....I will use cold colour like blue and green on the 1st small earth and then I will slowly increase the gradient of the colour from cold colour to hot colour in ascending order on each of the earth...
